i believe when we were in the jw cult, our brains and thoughts were hijacked by the governing body.

i truly believe the gb thinks all members are stupid and they laugh at them in their wednesday morning secret meetings.. one such teaching that i never heard anyone bring out or question yet the absurdity and contradiction is blatantly obvious is: revelation chapter 20 says that christ will reign for 1000 years.

it doesn't say he will reign more than a thousand yrs but only 1000 yrs.

So, tell me something. Why did Jesus sit at the right hand of God until God placed all of his enemies as his footstool, but then the first thing that Jesus did when he was enthroned in 1914 was start a war in heaven and he kicked Satan and his enemies out of heaven?

WTWizard, I have never seen nor heard of a JW concerned about relaying false information or even making it up to suit themselves. Further, I have never heard of a JW reproved either privately or publicly, disfellowshiped, or even privately counseled for slander. It just doesn't happen because the WTBTS doesn't care about individuals who are slandered.

I'm wondering why you didn't mention anything about unprotected sex, it seems like that is pretty much "anyone else's business if you choose".

This is kind of similar to the Egyptian Pharaohs telling the Israelite slaves to make twice as many bricks but they had to get their materials also.

I know with myself, when I was in full-time service in construction and they wanted us also to auxiliary pioneer twice a year and then we're being heavy-handed by the branch that I just said enough is enough. I packed a small bag, purchased two tickets home for me and my wife and left. I never contributed anything financially again and eventually quickly faded and never looked back.

Haha, and people caution you about believing advice you read on the internet. At least there are some that are interested in the "not going to be a pat on your back Truths".

ProbablyYouShouldRun, I believe you've got this. What is interesting is that JW believers can/will demonstrate personality/character flaws that would negatively affect a romantic love interest more rapidly than someone that is not a JW believer. The hypocrisy is so easy to spot when someone does a little research as you have into their beliefs and expected code of conduct of core members.
